Saga Class passengers: 2 Bags + 1 Personal Item*
- Maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage: 115 cm/45 in (length + width + height)
- Maximum weight of each piece of carry-on luggage: 9 kg/20 lb each
Economy Class passengers: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item*
- Maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage: 115 cm/45 in (length + width + height)
- Maximum weight of carry-on luggage: 6 kg/13 lb
*Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. You must be able to lift your carry-on into the overhead storage without assistance.
REMINDER: Bulkhead seats do not have underseat storage during take-off and landing.
Checked Baggage Allowance
Saga Class passengers
- Flights within Europe/Weight Concept: (Europe to Iceland and return) Saga Class passengers are entitled to 30 kg/66 lb.
- Transatlantic Flights/Piece Concept: (Europe to the USA and return) two checked bags, not weighing more than 34 kg/70 lb each, total of the 3 dimensions (length + width + height) does not exceed 158 cm/62 in.
Economy Class passengers
- Flights within Europe/Weight Concept: (Europe to Iceland and return) Economy Class passengers are entitled to 20 kg/44 lb.
- Transatlantic Flights/Piece Concept: (Europe to the USA and return) two checked bags, not weighing more than 23 kg/50 lb each, total of the 3 dimensions (length + width + height) does not exceed 158 cm/62 in.
Infants
Infants not entitled to a seat are allowed 10 kg/22 lb and in addition one checked or carry on fully collapsible stroller or infant carrying basket.
Disabled passengers
Disabled passengers are allowed a wheelchair in addition to their free baggage allowance, but it must be checked.
Excess Baggage Fees
Excess baggage fees for economy passengers flying to/from North America are charged if your checked baggage is oversized, overweight, or exceeds the allowable two pieces each weighing up to 50 lb/23 kg.
For two pieces of baggage each weighing 51 lb/24 kg to 70 lb/32 kg, each piece one-way fee will be charged:
- Flights to/from Reykjavik and Boston, Halifax, New York (JFK), or Toronto: $72 each piece, each way
- Flights to/from all other destinations and Boston, Halifax, New York (JFK), or Toronto: $85
- Flights to/from Reykjavik and Minneapolis/St. Paul or Orlando (Sanford): $90
- Flights to/from all other destinations and Minneapolis/St. Paul or Orlando (Sanford): $105
For 3+ additional pieces each weighing up to 70 lb, the following per-piece one-way fee will be charged:
- Flights to/from Reykjavik and Boston, Halifax, or New York (JFK): $110 each piece, each way
- Flights to/from all other destinations and Boston, Halifax, or New York (JFK): $125
- Flights to/from Reykjavik and Minneapolis/St. Paul or Orlando (Sanford): $127
- Flights to/from all other destinations and Minneapolis/St. Paul or Orlando (Sanford): $135
Saga Business Class: Not applicable
Luggage weighing over the maximum weight of 70 lb/32 kg will not be permitted. If you have luggage which exceeds the baggage allowance of 70 lb/32 kg, contact Icelandair Cargo (1-800-221-6640) for details. The baggage in cargo will be subject to the terms and conditions for freight transportation. Customs and import regulations may differ from those which apply for checked baggage transported with the passenger.
Note: Excess baggage fees when flying between European countries differ than when traveling between North America and Europe.
