Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item

Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a laptop bag, handbag, or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. All carry-on bags must adhere to the following requirements:

• Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 21 in x 15 in x 7 in/55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm (length + width + height)
• Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 11 lb/5 kg

Checked Baggage Allowance

Domestic and international flights, excluding flights between China and the US, and Canada and Brazil (limited to tickets sold in Brazil for flights departing from Brazil):

Economy Class:

• Free baggage allowance: 44 lb/20 kg

Excpetions:

• European routes: 66 lb/30 kg
• Flight CA909/910 Moscow - Beijing route: 88 lb/40 kg
• Hailar - Chita and Beijing - Stockholm routes, the allowance remains 44 lb/20 kg

Business and First Class:

• First class: 88 lb/40 kg
• Business class: 66 lb/30 kg

Platinum Card Members:

66 lb/30 kg above the standard baggage allowance, regardless of class/route

Gold and Silver Card Members:

44 lb/20 kg above the standard baggage allowance, regardless of class/route

Infants not occupying a seat, paying 10% of adult fare:

• Free baggage allowance: 22 lb/10 kg
• An additional folding baby carriage or cradle may be checked. Provided that the cabin space permits, such folding baby carriage or cradle may be taken into the cabin with the approval of Chief Attendant.

Oversize and Excess Baggage

For any luggage exceeding the weight limit, a 1.5% surcharge will be levied on each additional kilogram. This fee will be calculated based on the highest regular fare for a direct flight economy class ticket of the day the overweight luggage check is issued.

Sports Equipment

Regardless of the size, the following objects can be treated as luggage if total length of three sides is less than 62 in/158 cm:

• Sleeping bag or bedroll
• Rucksack, knapsack, or backpack
• Snowboard/Ski equipment - A ski bag containing one pair of skis/one snowboard and poles. A boot bag containing one pair of ski boots.
• Golf equipment - Golf bag containing golf clubs and one pair of golf shoes
• Duffel bag or a type 22 bag
• Bicycle - Single seat touring or racing bicycle, non-motorized packed properly with handlebars turned sideways and pedals are removed
• Surfboard, wake board, or pair of water skis
• Fishing equipment - Properly packed equipment containing not more than two fishing rods, one reel, one landing net, one pair of fishing boots, and one tackle box
• Sporting firearms- one rifle case containing not more than 2 rifles, 11 lb/5 kg of ammunition, one shooting mat, a noise suppressor and small rifle tools, or two shotguns and two shotgun cases, or one pistol case containing not more than 5 pistols, 11 lb/5 kg of ammunition, noise suppressors, one pistol telescope and small pistol tools. Acceptability of such firearms shall be subject to the carrier's conditions
• Musical instruments not exceeding 39 in/100 cm in length
