What is Unaccompanied Minor Service?

Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be unaccompanied minors. Most airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

Children ages 5 to 7

$25 service charge for direct and nonstop flights, and online connections. Island Air will not transfer unaccompanied minors younger than 8 years old to another carrier.

Children ages 8 to 11

$25 service charge for direct and nonstop flights, and online connections. $50 service charge to transfer unaccompanied minors that are at least 8 years old to another carrier. (Note: Hawaiian Airlines does not accept interline unaccompanied minors.)

Children ages 12 to 17

Escort service for connections may be provided upon request for $30.

Can children fly unaccompanied on the last flight of the day?

Island Air will accept an unaccompanied minor on the last flight of the day only if the adult dropping off the child waits at the airport until the flight has reached its destination.
