Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:
- Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 24in x 17in x 10in/61cm x 17cm x 10cm (length x width x height)
REMINDER: Bulkhead seats do not have underseat storage during take-off and landing.

Passengers traveling prior to July 1, 2008, or who purchased their tickets prior to May 1, 2008

- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight: 50 lb/23 kg

Passengers traveling after July 1, 2008
- Baggage Allowance: 1 piece*
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight: 50 lb/23 kg
*Exceptions to the $25 fee:
- First class passengers may check 2 bags free of charge.
- MVP Gold Mileage Plan members may check 2 bags free of charge.
- Strollers, car seats, and disabled customers' assistive devices do not count towards checked baggage allowance and may be checked without charge.
- Military personnel on active duty are allowed to check 2 duffel bags up to 70 pounds per bag and up to 115 linear inches free of charge.
- Passengers making international connections to other airlines may follow the weight restrictions of the international airline, which may allow for heavier bags than the Alaska Airlines free allowance.
- Passengers traveling solely within the state of Alaska may check 3 bags free of charge.
- Customers traveling to or from Guadalajara or Mexico City may check 2 bags free of charge.

Excess Baggage Fees
Fee for first additional bag: $25
Fee for additional bags 2-6: $100 each
Fee for additional bags 7 and up: $150 each

Overweight Baggage Fees
Fee for any bag weighing 51-100 lb: $50
Bags weighing more than 100 lb will not be accepted. If a bag is both overweight and oversize, the higher fee will apply.

Oversize Baggage Fees
Fee for any bag between 63-80 in: $50
Fee for any bag between 80-115 in: $75
Bags with overall dimensions that exceed 115 inches will not be accepted. If a bag is both overweight and oversize, the higher fee will apply.

Sports Equipment
Some checked items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements. Contact Alaska Airlines directly if you plan to travel with Sporting Equipment to confirm packing regulations and fees.
