Does Air Canada have online check-in?

Yes, Air Canada's Web Check-in allows you to check-in up to 24 hours before your flight. You may print your boarding pass from home, retrieve it at the airport from a Self-Service kiosk, or choose to receive an Electronic Boarding Pass directly on your mobile device.

What are the requirements for using Web Check-in?

  • Check-in 30 minutes-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart if flying within Canada.
  • Check-in 1-24 hours before your flight is between Canada and other countries (including the United States).
  • You are not a special needs passenger (i.e. unaccompanied minor, wheelchair or medical assistance).

Make sure you leave enough time at the airport to get through security, check your bags, etc.

    If I plan to check in at the airport, how much time should I allot?

    If traveling within Canada:

    • Air Canada recommends you arrive at the airport 60 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure.
    • The cut-off time for checking in is 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.

    If traveling within or to/from the U.S:

    • Air Canada recommends you arrive at the airport 90 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure.
    • The cut-off time for checking in is 45 minutes before scheduled departure time.

    If traveling to/from an international destination (including Mexico and the Caribbean):

    • Air Canada recommends you arrive at the airport 2 hours before your flight's scheduled departure.
    • The cut-off time for checking in is 60 minutes before scheduled departure time.

    When do I need to be at the boarding gate?

    • Within or to/from Canada and U.S.: at least 20 minutes before flight departure time
    • International passengers: at least 30 minutes before flight departure time (some international destinations will require more time)
