Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer
garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and
adhere to the following requirements:
- Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 22in x 16in x 9in/55cm x 40cm x 23cm (length x width x height)
- Maximum Dimensions of Personal Item: 17in x 13in x 6in/43cm x 33cm x 16cm (length x width x height)
REMINDER: Bulkhead seats do not have underseat storage during take-off and landing.

Checked Baggage Allowance
Passengers traveling in Economy Class to all destinations except Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan:
- Baggage Allowance: 2 pieces
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight: 50 lb/23 kg
- *Star Alliance Gold Members are allowed one extra bag, as long as it meets the above requirements.
Passengers traveling in Economy Class to Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan:
- Baggage Allowance: 2 pieces
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight: 70 lb/32 kg
- *Star Alliance Gold Members are allowed one extra bag, as long as it meets the above requirements and the total weight of all three bags does not exceed 150 lb/69 kg.
Passengers traveling in Executive Class or Executive First to any destination:
- Baggage Allowance: 3 pieces
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight: 70 lb/32 kg
- Total weight of all three bags cannot exceed: 150 lb/69 kg
Air Canada Elite and Super Elite passengers, traveling in any cabin to any destination:
- Baggage Allowance: 4 pieces
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight: 70 lb/32 kg
- Total weight of all three bags cannot exceed: 120 lb/92 kg
Excess, Overweight, Oversize Baggage Fees
If you have more bags than the permitted allowance or your bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, you will be charged additional fees. Contact Air Canada directly, or visit their Excess Baggage Information Page for information.
Sports Equipment
Some checked items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements. This fee is $65 CAD/$50 USD. All articles must be less than 115 linear inches or 292cm (length + width + height) and no longer than 80in or 203cm.
