What is unaccompanied minor service?
Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered unaccompanied minors. Most airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.
What age does my child have to be to qualify as an unaccompanied minor?
Children age 5 years or older may travel unaccompanied on Air Berlin.
What are the fees associated with this service?
The carriage of unaccompanied minors is subject to a processing charge of €40 one way. For flights of over 3,000 miles this charge is €80 one way.
Are there any flight restrictions?
In several countries, special entry and visa requirements apply to children travelling alone and children not accompanied by their parents. The responsible embassies and consulates of the countries concerned can provide you with reliable information.
