TUIfly: Pet Policy

You must contact the TUIfly Service Centre directly to make travel arrangements for your pet; space is often limited.

What methods of transport does TUIfly provide for my pet?

  • Travel in the passenger cabin.
  • Checked as baggage in pressurized and temperature controlled area of your aircraft.

Does my pet qualify for travel in the passenger cabin?

The animal must be kept in a secure, suitable travel container, to be provided by the passenger. As the total number of animals per flight is limited, the airline must be notified in advance and permission/confirmation obtained. Animals traveling in the cabin must be kept in a suitable pet travel bag, both flexible and waterproof. The animal's head must not protrude from the travel bag. The animal must remain within the container throughout the flight. The container may not, at any time be placed on the seat even if an extra seat is purchased. Guide dogs may travel in the cabin without a container.

Does my pet qualify for travel as checked baggage?

The animal must be kept in a secure, suitable travel container, to be provided by the passenger. As the total number of animals per flight is limited, the airline must be notified in advance and permission/confirmation obtained. For carriage in the hold, a stable, secure travel container is required. Any pet travel container must, for the animal's protection, be resistant to internal and external damage during air travel. TUIfly does not assume any responsibility for damage resulting from the inadequacy of the travel container.

What are the fees associated with pet transport?

Carriage of animals in the cabin:

  • USD $40 / €25 / £20,00 / SEK 240 per animal, per international flight segment

What are the kennel requirements?

The transport of animals is subject to the provisions of the IATA Live Animals Regulations, which can be made available by the airline on request.

What health documentation is required?

The passenger shall be responsible for compliance with all health checks/documentation and requirements/papers necessary for the animal to enter the country of destination. The passenger alone shall be responsible for compliance with all conditions and restrictions associated with the import and export of animals.

Are there any other restrictions?

TUIfly can refuse to transport an animal due to illness, aggressive behavior, poor kenneling, or extreme temperatures at origin, transfer, or destination airports.

TUIfly is unable to carry any animals on flights to and from the UK, Ireland, and Sweden, owing to the strict statutory requirements in these countries.
