American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Vers. 2 (M80)
This Version 2 of the MD-80 features 4 additional seats in Economy Class. The MD-80 is an older aircraft, no longer in production but number 237 in the American Airlines fleet.
American Airlines is starting to phase out these planes and is replacing them with 737-800s.
The overhead bins on the A,B side of Economy class are very small; standard rolling carry-on bags do not fit when placed wheels first. However, the D,E,F side has extended overhead bins to accommodate standard carry-ons.

- First Class: Complimentary food service is offered on all flights over 1 hour 45 minutes that operate within a traditional meal time.
First class passengers, remember the acronym FEBO for food service. American Airlines serves first class from the Front on Even numbered flights and the Back on Odd numbered flights. Being served first usually results in getting your first choice of meals.
