Air Transat: Children Flying Alone

What is unaccompanied minor service?

Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered unaccompanied minors. Most airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

What age does my child have to be to qualify as an unaccompanied minor?

Children between the ages of 5 and 11 who have to travel alone are eligible for Air Transat's VIP service (Very Important Person). There is no charge for this service, and it is available on all Air Transat flights. Air Transat is unable to accompany children to connecting flights on another airline. Passengers between the age of 12 and 17 years old can travel alone as "Youth Passengers" with Air Transat. Children under 5 years of age are not allowed to travel unless accompanied by an adult who is at least 15 years old.
