Excess, Overweight, Oversize Baggage Fees

If you have more bags than the permitted allowance or your bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, you will be charged additional fees. Contact Air Asia directly, or visit Air Asia's Excess Baggage Information Page for more information. Fees are in local currency.

Be aware that you will be charged a flat rate for the first 15kg and a different rate for each additional kg at the airport.

You can save on baggage charges by pre-booking baggage online at airasia.com during the booking process or via Manage My Booking . A minimum of 15kg of checked baggage may be purchased at first instance and you can UPSIZE in increments of 5kg or SUPERSIZE total weight allowance to 30kg. If you UPSIZE or SUPERSIZE your baggage four hours or more before scheduled departure, you can save up to 50% on charges.

NOTE: If actual baggage weight is less than the pre-booked weight, fees paid are non-refundable. Baggage weight is transferable from one guest to another, if they are traveling on the same itinerary.

There is a Sports Equipment Fee applicable to Surfboards, Snowboards, Bicycles, Scuba, Golf and Skiing gears. Any other sporting equipments will be accepted as part of the baggage allowance and subject to any associated fees. This fee is approximately $25 for up to 45 lb (20 kg).
