What methods of transport does Transavia (HV) provide for my pet?

Pets may travel in the cabin or in the cargo hold, and cannot travel unaccompanied.

Does my pet qualify to travel in the cabin?

Your pet and kennel must not exceed 10 kg, and the cage should not exceed 47 cm x 30 cm x 27 cm. Only dogs and cats are accepted onboard, and the animal must be at least 3 months and 21 days old. Your flight cannot be to the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and Chambery, as Transavia does not transport animals to these destinations due to airport restrictions.

Does my pet qualify to travel in the hold?

Your pet must be a dog or cat that is at least 3 months and 21 days old. If your pet is a snub-nosed dog, such as a pug, it may only be transported in the cabin. Your flight cannot be to the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and Chambery, as Transavia does not transport animals to these destinations due to airport restrictions.

What are the fees associated with pet transport?

The fee for pet travel in the cabin is EUR 40 per flight, and the fee for pet travel in the hold is EUR 60 per flight.

What are the kennel requirements?

For travel in the cabin, the kennel may not exceed 47 cm d 30 cm x 27 cm. The bag to transport the animal in the cabin should be an official pet transport bag, and should close completely. The bag should contain sufficient airholes and plastic windows, and the animal should have sufficient room to move around in the bag. For pets travelling in the hold, the hennel floor must be covered by a blanket or newspaper and may not contain toys, soft toys and chewy items.

What health documentation is required?

Passengers are required to travel with their pet's animal passport. The passport must have had the clinical examination section completed, and must have been issued by a properly appointed veterinary surgeon. As well, the animal should be wearing an electronic identification system. Passengers should contact the consulate or embassy of their destination country to ask about any regulations and necessary paperwork.

How do I make arrangements to travel with my pet?

You must inform Transavia (HV) of your intent to travel with a pet during booking, through My Transavia, or by contacting the Service Center. Transavia (HV) must be notified at least 48 hours prior to departure.
