Does Skylanes have an unaccompanied minor service?
Yes, children from the ages of 5 to 12-years-old qualify for the service. Children must be accompanied to/from the airport by an adult 18 years or older. Reservations for this service must be made ahead of time through the reservations department. Proper identification documention must be provided for the child before departure.
What does the service entail?
Your child will sit in the front of the plane and be cared for by a flight attendant. They will be provided with snacks, activities such as coloring books or cards, and attentive assistance throughout the flight. A flight attendant will greet them at the gate and take them to baggage claim after the flight to be retrieved by a designated adult.
Children can travel without the service if accompanied by a sibling 16 years or older. 14 and 15-year-olds can travel alone, but may not be responsible for a child 5-12-years-old. Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
The unaccompanied minor service costs $70 each way in addition to the cost of a child ticket. Child tickets are usually 67% of the adult fare, though this is subject to change.
