What is unaccompanied minor service?

Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered unaccompanied minors. Most airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

What age does my child have to be to qualify as an unaccompanied minor?

  • Children over 3 months but under 3 years require an attendant. Reservations must be 5 days in advance.
  • Children over 3 years but under 5 years require an attendant. Up to four unaccompanied minors in this age group may be accepted for each attendant. Reservations must be 5 days in advance.
  • For children over 5 years but under 12 years, an attendant is not required. Reservations should be made 72 hours in advance.

How do I book this service?

The parent or legal guardian must complete a "Consent & Release for Carriage of Minors" when the ticket is issued.
