All baggage fees are charged in the currency of the origin airport.
Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:
- Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 22 in x 14 in x 9 in/56 cm X 36 cm X 23 cm (length x width x height)
- Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 15 lb/7 kg

Checked Baggage Allowance
- There is no free baggage allowance for checked bags.
- Baggage Allowance: 47 lb/20 kg
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)
Excess, Overweight, Oversize Baggage Fees
If you have more bags than the permitted allowance or your bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, you will be charged additional fees. Contact Air Asia directly, or visit Air Asia's Excess Baggage Information Page for more information. Fees are in local currency.
Be aware that you will be charged a flat rate for the first 15kg and a different rate for each additional kg at the airport.
You can save on baggage charges by pre-booking baggage online at airasia.com during the booking process or via Manage My Booking . A minimum of 15kg of checked baggage may be purchased at first instance and you can UPSIZE in increments of 5kg or SUPERSIZE total weight allowance to 30kg. If you UPSIZE or SUPERSIZE your baggage four hours or more before scheduled departure, you can save up to 50% on charges.
NOTE: If actual baggage weight is less than the pre-booked weight, fees paid are non-refundable. Baggage weight is transferable from one guest to another, if they are traveling on the same itinerary.
There is a Sports Equipment Fee applicable to Surfboards, Snowboards, Bicycles, Scuba, Golf and Skiing gears. Any other sporting equipments will be accepted as part of the baggage allowance and subject to any associated fees. This fee is approximately $25 for up to 45 lb (20 kg). Each additional kg over 20 will be charged at a rate of approximately $15 per kg. All articles must be less than 109 linear inches/277 cm (length + width + height) and no longer than 80 in/203 cm.
