Airlines

If you're like many frequent fliers, you've experienced the frustration of being stuck in the middle seat of an economy-class row, fighting for arm rest space with the passengers on either side of you. And if you've been lucky enough to experience flying business class, you know that it's like being on an entirely different world. However, these airlines take flying in luxury to completely new heights.

Singapore Airlines

In early 2017, Singapore Airlines announced that they would be redesigning their existing first-class suites on their Airbus A380s. The airline recently revealed their new and upgraded designs, and they're even more incredible than expected.

These suites (there are six on each plane) feature reclining leather armchairs that are extra wide for comfort, as well as a stow-away bed. For couples traveling together, reservations can be arranged so that adjacent aisle suites, including their beds, can be combined to create one full-sized bed. Additional amenities of these suites include:

  • Bose noise-cancelling headphones
  • Dining/work table
  • 32-inch HD entertainment monitor
  • Luxury bathroom (two for first class to share)

Not sure about shelling out the cash for one of these amazing first-class suites? Good news: Singapore Airlines has also upgraded is economy and premium economy seats to be more spacious and private.

Emirates Airlines

Looking to take your first class experience up a notch? Emirates Airlines new private suites on their Boeing 777 may fit the bill. These suites feature an astounding 40 square feet of private space with upgraded flight entertainment systems. Passengers will also enjoy the fact that these suites are fully enclosed, offering a level of privacy not available on most other airlines. Perhaps the most unique feature of this suite is its bed, which is equipped with a "zero gravity" function that was inspired by NASA. This function allows passengers to experience a feeling of weightlessness for added comfort during flight.

Additional features and services included with this suite:

  • A stocked personal mini bar
  • Mood lighting
  • Video call capabilities with crew
  • A service window

Ethiad Airlines

If you've got tens of thousands of dollars (literally; we're not exaggerating) to drop on your next flight, Ethiad Airlines' new first class super-premium suites are a must-try. These Residences, as they call them, are divided into three separate rooms. This includes a living room, a private bathroom, and a bedroom. The living room features comfortable leather seating for two people, as well as a 32-inch flatscreen television and in-suite mini bar. All Residences also have automatic blinds for your convenience, as well as a pair of Bose noise-cancelling headphones for a quiet and distraction-free flight.

The private bathroom has its own stand-up shower, which is difficult to find in even some of the nicest first-class cabins out there, let alone one entirely for yourself. Passengers will also enjoy the comfortable double bed included in the Residence's bedroom. Overall, this is probably the most luxurious (and definitely the most expensive) of all the first-class options out there in the airline industry today.

Isn't it amazing how far air travel has come over the years? Only time will tell what the future holds for luxury air travel, but if you have the opportunity to experience it for yourself, going back to economy class or even business class in the future will likely be a challenge.
