On the heels of their Basic Economy product announced last year, United has revealed some details about their new premium economy product known as “Premium Plus.”

While there are few details available about the product, United has confirmed that seats will be more spacious than those in Economy Class, meals will be served on china, alcoholic beverages will be served free, an amenity kit will be available, and the use of a Saks Fifth Avenue blanket and pillow will be provided during flight.

The development of United’s new product is in response to other airlines, such as American Airlines and Delta Airlines, announcing their details of a premium economy product, plus passengers looking for more comfort during their flight while not breaking the bank. In the second half of 2016, American Airlines unveiled their premium economy product on its international 787 Dreamliners. Upgrades to their Airbus A330-200’s, Boeing 777’s, and 787-8’s are also scheduled. Shortly after their announcement, Delta Airlines announced in May 2017 their own international premium economy cabin on their Airbus A350-900. They also plan to install it in their other widebody aircraft soon.

United’s Premium Plus product should not be confused with their Economy Plus domestic product. Premium Plus will have unique seats, extended leg room, and upgraded onboard services.

As of right now, United’s Premium Plus will be found on select international flights with more details expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
