LATAM Brasil Infants Policy

Do I need to reserve a seat for my infant on LATAM Airlines?

Children up to 2 years old (24 months), are not required to have their own seat in Economy Class. You must, however, inform LATAM Airlines that you will be traveling with an infant on your lap and pay associated fares, fees, and taxes. Lap children may only be held by passengers who are at least 15 years of age.

Only one lap child is allowed per adult. If one adult is traveling with more than one infant under 2 years of age, a seat will have to be purchased for each additional infant.

You may also choose to purchase a seat for your infant as long as you have the proper certified child chair (car seat) for use on board the aircraft or an Aviation Child Safety Device (ACSD).

If you are traveling in Premium Business Class then you must pay the full fare for a reserved seat for the infant.

The approximate bassinet measurements are: 75 cm x 34 cm x 22 cm/30 in x 13 in x 8.5 in. It will hold up to 11 kg/22 lb including the infant. The weight of the bassinet is 3.5 kg/7.5 lb. The bassinet location is always in front of the first seats of each class, at the bulkhead. See the specific aircraft seat map page for more information.

Because infant amenities vary by aircraft, look for the Infant Amenity Icon on the SeatGuru.com airplane seat map page. If it is present, clicking on it will tell you what infant services are available on that airplane. If you do not see it, then infant amenities are not offered on that aircraft. You may always contact LATAM Airlines for more information.
