What is Unaccompanied Minor Service?

Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be Unaccompanied Minors. Most airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

What age does my child have to be to qualify as an Unaccompanied Minor?

A child is considered an Unaccompanied Minor if he/she is 5 years of age but under 15 years and is not accompanied in the same cabin by a passenger who is 15 years of age or older. Air Jamaica will not accept an Unaccompanied Minor under the age of 2 years.

Though not required, passengers ages 15-17 may be included in this service.

An Air Jamaica Care Agent must accompany an Unaccompanied Minor who is between the ages of 2 and 5 years.
