What is Unaccompanied Minor Service?
Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be Unaccompanied Minors. Most airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

What age does my child have to be to qualify as an Unaccompanied Minor?
A child is considered an Unaccompanied Minor if he/she is 5 years of age but under 15 years and is not accompanied in the same cabin by a passenger who is 15 years of age or older. Air Jamaica will not accept an Unaccompanied Minor under the age of 2 years.
Though not required, passengers ages 15-17 may be included in this service.
An Air Jamaica Care Agent must accompany an Unaccompanied Minor who is between the ages of 2 and 5 years.

What are the fees associated with this service?
- Flights between Kingston and Montego Bay: USD $30 one way
- Flights between Jamaica and Grand Cayman: USD $50 one way
- Flights between Jamaica and all other destinations: USD/CAD $100 one way

Are there any flight restrictions?
- Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to departure.
- Reservations for children traveling unaccompanied must be made through Air Jamaica's Reservations Department or your travel agent.
- The child must hold confirmed reservations. A return ticket is needed for an Unaccompanied Minor who is not a citizen or resident of the country to which he/she is traveling.
